How to avoid and resolve hand, finger and wrist pain at work: an infographic

When using a laptop or computer all day at work, it's the hands that do most of the legwork (so to speak).

Even while you're sitting down, mostly sedentary, your fingers are busy flying from key to key; your arm shooting out to your mouse every time you need to scroll, or click, or navigate around, then back again to the keyboard for typing. If you could view yourself in fast-motion throughout a workday, your fingers and arms would be a blur.

These small but constant repetitive movements can, over time, fatigue the muscles and connective tissue in your fingers, hands, arms and shoulders. Considering this, it's perhaps no surprise that (according to the Labour Force Survey) there are over 200,000 cases of work-related upper limb disorders (ULDs) each year in the UK alone. The Health and Safety Executive (HSE) estimates that ULDs cost 2.6 million working days every year.

To avoid the discomfort, pain and loss of productivity caused by ULDs, it's important to take care of our arms, hands and shoulders at work. Our infographic explores some of the main problems and solutions to try, including product recommendations.
